What Should You Do if the DJ Gets Drunk?

Hiring a wedding DJ is a great addition to your Big Event. However, you should definitely make sure you hire the right person for this job. Even a small slip can mean a lot for the success of your wedding, so be extra-careful to how you make the final selection!

For example, have you considered what happens if your DJ gets drunk during your wedding? What is there to do in such cases – and even more than that, what is there to do to avoid such situations?

We have gathered some of the most important things you should know about this – so read on and find out more.

• Generally speaking, the contract you sign with your DJ should specify whether or not he/she is allowed to drink alcohol during the wedding – and, if yes, how much is the absolute limit. If you have worked with this DJ before or if your planner has years of experience in collaborating with him/her, you should have no issues whatsoever.

• If your wedding DJ gets drunk halfway through the wedding, you might find that there’s not much to do. Unless you have a clear point in your contract regarding this kind of situations, you will most likely not get your money back.

• If you are worried about having a drunk DJ at your wedding, think twice before “hiring” a friend to do this for you. No matter how great he/she may be, he/she will find it hard not to have a couple of drinks at your wedding – and this can very easily ensue a true disaster.

Here at DJ Brock Weddings, we put professionalism above everything else - and we would never do anything to ruin your wedding day. Talented, dedicated and with genuine experience behind us, we can provide exquisite DJ services to brides and grooms who want their Big Day to be really unforgettable. Contact us and find out more about our services!

3 Things You Should Know about Social Media Wedding Etiquette

Social Media “follows” us around from the moment we wake up in the morning to the moment we go back to sleep at night. From Facebook to Instagram and from Snapchat to LinkedIn, our Social Media accounts speak about who we are, what we like and what our stories are.

Naturally, you will not be able to avoid Social Media when it comes to the Big Day – but making sure you stick to some basic etiquette rules can save you from a lot of trouble.

What are some of the most important things you should know about weddings on the Social Media? Read on and find out more.

  • Call your mom, dad and friends first. Post your engagement ring after. The last thing you want is your childhood neighbor to find out about the engagement before your parents do!
  • Keep yourself positive. None of your Facebook or Instagram friends want to know about that rude caterer or about the fact that you haven’t settled on a bouquet. They want to hear the good news and to be part of the beautiful side of your wedding planning story – so keep your Wall, your Twitter and your Instagram positive!
  • Create a wedding hashtag. It is not only fun, but it will also help you collect all of your wedding photos into one place. Also, keep in mind that you should task a trustworthy person to be your “Social Media Manager” for the day too. This will help you avoid having any embarrassing pictures shared on the Internet.

Still searching for a great DJ to spin the best music at your wedding? Contact DJ Brock Weddings! Talented, dedicated and equipped with the latest and most advanced pieces, we can provide you top-notch DJ services for an unforgettable wedding day!

Don’t let your DJ Hog the Mic

Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of event. You want to remember yourself smiling and sharing joy with your guests. You want to remember this day as one of the best ones of your life – and you want your guests to do the same too.

…The last thing you want is a DJ who’s hogging the mic and ruining the great atmosphere on the dance floor.

How to make sure you don’t let your DJ hog the mic and take over the music? We have gathered some tips for you, so read on and find out more.

• Do your homework. It will pay off. A bit of research into who your DJ is and how his previous clients see him can go a very long way. Take a good look at his reviews and see if your DJ hasn’t got any kind of bad reviews from people who say that he spoke too much. This might take a bit of time if you have to go through a large number of reviews, but it will be more than worth it!

• If your DJ surprises you with an overly chatty mood and if you feel that he’s being inappropriate or that he’s ruining the dance floor, speak up and tell him what bothers you. Ask your wedding planner, your father or your Best Man to go up to him and explain that you and your partner would like him to focus on the music.

• If he doesn’t stop this way either, please make sure to contact him after the wedding and be very clear (and calm!) about the things you didn’t like. It is unlikely that you will get your money back, but you will at least make your point – and who knows, you might actually save a future bride from an awkward situation too!

If you are searching for a DJ in California and if you want to be absolutely certain that he is really professional, contact DJ Brock Weddings. Our passion is the music we spin and the people we make happy – so you can rely on us to be professional, spot-on and truly devoted to your Big Day!

Hi blog world. I'm DJ Brock.

Recently I was going through some old letters and found a thank you note from the first wedding I ever did. Although the mother of the bride wrote the letter in 2001, the wedding was held near the end of 2000 while I was still 16. I'll never forget the look on the bride's face when she met me for the first time right before her wedding started. You could just see her thinking, "Is this kid even old enough to drive and did I just make a huge mistake hiring him to DJ my wedding". Well, even though I called all the men out for the bouquet toss and most likely made some other mistakes I don't even remember, the bride, groom, and guests had a blast. DJ Brock Weddings was born.
