A Couple Ways Your Wedding Music Can Kill the Vibe
We have said it before and we will always emphasize it: the music at your wedding is absolutely crucial for the success of the entire event. And while you may have gotten familiar with the dos of wedding music, are you aware of the don’ts as well?
What are some of the most common ways your wedding music can kill the vibe? Here are some tips to remember:
• Your First Dance song is way too long. Everybody understands the emotion behind this moment – and there’s probably no guest at your wedding who doesn’t understand just how important this dance is for you as a couple. But choosing a First Dance song that’s too long can kill the vibe even if it’s just two minutes longer than the average song. Try to stick with something short and sweet instead!
• You have obviously not researched the lyrics – and now you have found that the songs you have chosen for the most special moments are completely unrelated, inappropriate or downright offensive. Be sure you Google your song lyrics and search for the meaning behind the tunes you use in your wedding playlist! The last thing you want is a horrified grandma and a bunch of kids listening to too much of RiRi’s age-inadequate songs.
• The tempo has nothing to do with the moment. It can be fun to play around with the tempo sometimes. But, in general, low-tempo songs are for the emotional, grave moments and high-tempo, high-energy songs are for the jolly moments. Sure, you can walk down the aisle on a very cheerful song and you can cut the cake on something really romantic if that represents you. But, in general, the tempo of the song should match the ambiance you’re trying to create.
