- The Prelude. As you guests arrive and take their seats, awaiting your ceremony, you will want to ensure that music is present. This time is called the prelude, and should last about approximately 30 minutes. For the prelude, consider playing mellow music, such as songs by artists like Jason Mraz or John Legend, to set just the right atmosphere.
- The Processional. Your processional will happen before you make your grand debut down the aisle. This time is for your wedding party to showcase their roles and await you at the altar. Depending on how large your wedding party is, the processional typically lasts about two to four minutes. If you want to choose a traditional song for this moment, consider Canon in D by Pachelbel.
- The Recessional. The recessional will take place after you are pronounced husband and wife. You will make your way back down the aisle, as celebratory newlyweds. Typically, you will choose a song that will last about three to four minutes for this time, so that you have a chance to mingle and get congratulated before you venture off to sign your marriage license. Consider choosing an upbeat and festive song for your recessional.
The timing of your wedding music is important! These are just a few tips to assist you in presenting the right length for yours. Are you ready to hire your Lake Tahoe wedding DJ?
