Tips for Planning Your Wedding Music
As wedding DJs, we understand what it takes to make your wedding spectacular! It is important to remember that music not only occurs during your wedding reception, but the second you walk down the aisle, all the way until your big exit as a newlywed couple.
With music being such a prominent feature of your big day, you certainly will want to ensure that it is perfectly presented.
We are honored to provide inspiration to couples planning their wedding. That’s why, here at DJ Brock Weddings, we have gathered some tips to assist you in planning your wedding music. If you are interested in discovering some insight, be sure to continue reading to learn more:
- Avoid silence! First off, not matter what is occurring within your wedding, music should always be present. Quiet atmospheres are not ideal, as it can ruin the ambience of your big day. Couples often think that while certain events are taking place, such as the cake cutting or toasts, that music should not be incorporated. However, that is not the case. If people are speaking for toasts or speeches, you can have music playing low to set the right tone. For events such as your cake cutting ceremony, you can incorporate a festive song, such as Sugar Sugar by The Archies, to make the moment even more sweet.
- Create the right space. Within your wedding reception, you will mostly likely have tables, your dance floor, and a space for your speakers. It is important to remember that there will be some guests who will want to dance and others who will want to visit. Presenting the right volume for your space is crucial. If you place your dance floor in between your tables and your speakers, those who wish to mingle among your tables will still be able to hear one another, while those who are on the dance floor can still enjoy loud enough music.
- Think about your guests. Music is presented in many genres. Playing a variety of songs will allow each of your guests to hear tunes that they like. While you may like one specific genre, your guest will most likely like another. Also, remember that people of many ages will be attending your wedding, so songs with inappropriate language should be avoided, at least until later in the evening after the little ones leave the celebration.
It’s only understandable that you will want your wedding to showcase great music. With these tips, you can plan yours to be perfectly presented.
